Holidays
On public holidays DMTCL often runs fewer trains and posts a holiday timetable as a notice. During the Durga Puja holidays in October 2026, for example, trains ran every 10 to 20 minutes. Before a holiday trip, check the notices on dmtcl.gov.bd or DMTCL’s Facebook page.
Tips for catching the last train
- Be on the platform a few minutes early. Times between the ends of the line are estimates.
- Use a card at night. With an MRT Pass or Rapid Pass you skip the ticket queue. See how to get one.
- Mind the 60-minute rule. A single journey ticket works for 60 minutes after you enter. After that you pay at the Excess Fare Office so that your total comes to ৳200.
- Check the fare first. Our fare chart has every station pair.
